Out of Evaporated Milk?

If out of evaporated milk, use 1 1/2 cups of whole milk simmered down to 2/3 cup for every 5 ounce can of evaporated milk needed. Note: Make sure to watch carefully while heating milk, whisking occasionally to eliminate scorching. Evaporation takes about 15 minutes when warmed on medium to low heat.
