Jane Deborah Garner Burris – On This Date in 1918

On this date the 30th of November, in 1918, our paternal great-great grandmother, Jane Burris passed away in Cassville, Missouri.**

Obituary***

Mrs. W.H. Burris died Saturday, November 30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Knee, in this city, following an illness of many months. The funeral was held Sunday and interment in the Munsey Cemetery on the Roaring River.

Jane Deborah Garner was born in Indiana in August of 1851 to parents Francis Owen Garner and Elizabeth Walker. She was married to William Henry Burris  and had 10 children.

The Roaring River Township (Eagle Rock area) census of 1900, Barry Co, Mo. lists Jane Deborah as having 10 children, 9 living as of census date.  Several children of their marriage had severe eye problems – blind or near blind (Mary, Ida, Rosa, Effie and Ellen).
