On this date the 18th of January in 2005, our Granny, Lucy Dee Wright LaPrarie Bass “went home to be with the Lord” (as the Christian saying goes for when some one dies). I can’t think of a more proper place for her to be but in heaven. She exuded her faith and love for God while she was with us. Reflecting on her life brings to mind these beautiful verses in Colossians.

2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. — Colossians 3:2-4 NIV

Lucy Dee Wright  married  her first husband, John Alvis LaPrarie in 1937 and had 3 children, John Louis LaPrarie, James Alvis LaPrarie, and our mom Nelda Grace LaPrarie Adams. She married her second husband, Carey “Dick” Bass in 1998. She was laid to rest next to her first husband in Heard Cemetery, Manifest, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, USA.**

She is dearly loved and truly missed….
