On this date the 22nd of June in 1907 our maternal great-great-great grandmother, Mary H. Deville, passed away.

Tine Deville was married to MaryAnn Bellegard and they had 10 children including our great great grandmother Azaline Deville.

Interesting fact: Death by dysentery in 1907 wasn’t very common in the United States. Ttuberculosis was the leading cause of death then. According to the CDC in 1900, eleven out of 100,000 deaths were from dysentery compared to almost 300 out 100,000 from tuberculosis.****

  1. Thanks for posting, Valentine & Marianne are my great great grandparents. Great grandparents were Palaneau and Rosalie.

    • Thank you Marci. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit Avoyelles Parish yet. Most of what I’ve shared about the Deville family, I found online. If you have any interesting family stories to share, I’d love to hear them. –Emily
