Sunday Biscuits

Sunday mornings, we traditionally have biscuits with jam, gravy or syrup.

Here is my family’s favorite biscuit recipe:

2 cups all-purpose unbleached flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup of salted butter
1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Preheat oven to 475 degrees. In a medium size bowl, cut the butter into flour, baking powder and salt with fork until it looks like coarse breadcrumbs. Add milk and vinegar and stir. Place moist dough on floured surface and gently pat into a cake pan- sized disk. Flatten to about ½ inch and cut with biscuit cutter. Place in well greased pan . Bake in 475 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
