Rosemary Citrus Dishwasher Gel

RoseMary Citrus Dishwasher GelI’ve been using this dishwasher gel recipe for over a month and am very happy with the results. I do rinse most of my dirty dishes before I load my dishwasher; therefore, my dishes are coming out clean. Here is my recipe and I hope it works out well for you.

Rosemary Citrus Dishwasher Gel

Yield: 10 Cups

Serving Size: 1 Tablespoon

Ingredients

  • 1 bar of soap (4 oz)
  • 10 cups of hot water
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup washing soda
  • 2 tablespoons citric acid
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 4 drops of your favorite citrus essential oil
  • 4 drops Rosemary essential oil

Instructions

  1. Grate the bar of soap and melt it in a saucepan of hot water. Remove from heat, whisk together and let the melted soapy water cool a little. In a large jar or 10 cup measuring pitcher add the dry ingredients. Next, slowly add soapy water to the dry mixture. Be aware that it will foam up quickly. Add just enough liquid to dissolve the powders when stirred. Add the rest of the liquid and stir to continue dissolving powder. Lastly fill your favorite squeeze bottle or wide mouth jar with the cooled dishwasher liquid. This product may be used immediately, but it may take over 24 hours for it to gel. Shake bottle well before each use. Requires only 1 tablespoon per load.
  2. White vinegar works great as a rinse aid.

Notes

If the dishwasher jel creates too many bubbles, just pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and that should take care of the problem.
