On Relaxing into Things

Waking up in the middle of the night to a feeling of calm and deep peace. It reminds me of a scripture that my granny embodied, the one about being given a peace that “surpasses all understanding.” I know she had hard times, but she stopped resisting at some point and just relaxed into everything. I would just sit in her presence and soak it in, often on that front porch. What a vibe she carried! What a gift to be her granddaughter! Feeling gratitude for those elders in my life who stuck it out, who molded their pain into something beautiful, and learned to be the calm in the storm.
