Carey S. Bass – On This Date in 1999

On this date the 4th of July in 1999, our Papa Dick passed away at his home in Vidalia, Louisiana.

He was born on July 11, 1910 in Olla, La Salle Parish, Louisiana to parents Carey Thomas Bass and Bertie Rosella Ratcliff.

He married his first wife Eula Mae Cobb and had two daughters Kaye and Faye. He married his second wife, our Granny Dee when they were in their late eighties.

He died on July 4, 1999 and was laid to rest next to his first wife Eula Cobb Bass in the Natchez City Cemetery in Natchez, Mississippi.*
