Peace Within

The weather outside is bad today.

There is thunder and lightning and rain coming down.

Through the window I watch the trees as they sway

Some of the limbs nearly touching the ground.

I sit here alone in my living room,

Listening to the rain drops falling outside.

I feel so content I begin to croon,

And thank God for keeping me safe inside.

As the thunder rolls through the atmosphere.

And the rain spreads out like a tent

I have peace within and I have no fear.

For I know God reigns omnipotent.
