Researching Your Family Tree on the Cheap – Tip #3

Tip # 3 can be time consuming but I’ve found it to be the best source for keeping track of current family events. This source is none other than Facebook. Scrolling through a family member’s posts,  pictures, or friends list can provide you with birth, wedding and death announcements for those second cousins you haven’t seen in years. Checking out Facebook posts around holidays like Memorial day is a prime time when family members are sharing memories in honor of deceased loved ones; so not only could you learn the when and where but also a treasure of a tale.
